INSEE Ecocycle Partner with Tesco Lotus to Destruct Foam Food Containers, Supporting a Closed Loop Packaging System
INSEE Ecocycle and Tesco Lotus, a leading retailer in Thailand, have joined forces in an environmental protection effort by turning foam food containers into energy with co-processing in cement kilns.
Tesco Lotus Thailand has announced to stop the use of polystyrene foam food containers in its operations since 2019 and aim to create a closed loop packaging system.
More than 250,000 trays (1.5 tons) of polystyrene foam food container were collected from every outlet and transported to INSEE Ecocycle Saraburi platform for destruction.
This collaboration will help our society and environment in a sustainable way.
We hope this initiative could be implemented in Tesco Lotus Malaysia, which would improve our local circular economy.
