Standard Operating Procedures (SOP): Lorry/Truck Maintenance and Performance Testing
1. Fuel Filter Replacement
- All lorries/trucks must undergo fuel filter replacement during testing
2. Data Collection
- Gather comprehensive information, including mileage, fuel consumption (extracted from GPS data), and idling time
3. Tank Refueling and Additive Top-Up
- Fill the lorry’s tank to capacity
- Top up with SUMBU organic fuel additive based on a specific ratio (100 ml per 300 liters of diesel), adjusting for varying tank capacities (some truck’s fuel tank could be 150 litres, 250 litres, 300 litres or even 500 litres tank)
- If the truck is filled with 400 litres of diesel, then about 130 ml of SUMBU is require (a bit extra addictive is fine for cleansing)
4. Trial Periods
- Conduct trials for either 7 or 30 days
- Upon tank emptying, refill with diesel and add the correct additive ratio
5. Supervisor/Maintenance Technician Assessment
- Task supervisors or maintenance technicians to assess:
- A. Driving sensation of the driver
- B. Driving power of the truck
- C. Smoke levels and odor from the exhaust, noting initial thick black smoke, which may contain particles
6. Cleansing Effects Assessment
- Monitor changes in driving sensation, power, smoke levels, and odor
- Expect improvements such as smoother driving, increased power, reduced smoke, and enhanced mileage after the cleansing effects take place (hours to days, depending on engine condition)
7. Record Keeping and Comparison
- Maintain detailed records of the above assessments
- Compare current data with past records and performance metrics for each truck
These SOPs aim to ensure systematic testing, maintenance, and performance evaluation of lorries/trucks, promoting optimal efficiency and longevity.
